These plug-door 50’ boxcars with Roller Bearing trucks were built in the late 1970s for Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe. They were assigned to food service, designated by the special equipment “XF” marking on the car. Founded in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America up until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.
